Full Day Ancient Rome Walking Tour

Colosseum, Roman Forum, Capitoline Hill, Imperial Fora, Pantheon, Porticus Octaviae, Forum Boarium, Circus Maximus.

Tour of the archaeological ancient roman heart of the eternal city: starting from the Amphiteatrum Flavium, better known as the Coliseum, in which thousands cruel fights between beasts and slaves took place, we will then admire the majesty of the triumphal Arch of the Emperor Constantine. Nearby this arch, the Roman Forum is a journey into ancient roman history: from the early Seven Kings to the Late Empire every man who ruled Rome left a reminder of himself in Rome’s main public square. At the end you’ll enjoy the breathtaking view from Capitoline Hill, the main of the seven hills of Rome, where Michelangelo designed in the Renaissance a monumental square built upon the ancient roman ruins. Visit to the Forum of Trojan, with the large square, the public mall, the huge Column with the bas-reliefs of the Emperor’s Battles, then the public Fora built by Julius Caesar, Augustus and Nerva.
The Pantheon is the best preserved roman temple and has the biggest concrete hemispheric dome built before XXth century, it was built near the baths of Agrippa and near the Holy Area of Largo Argentina, the place where Julius Caesar was assassinated. Crossing the Jewish Ghetto we reach the Foro Piscatorio, the fish market, and the Theatre of Marcellus, Emperor Augustus’ nephew; then the two oldest marketplaces of the city: the Forum Boario and the Forum Olitorio. The two well-preserved Republican Temples of Hercules and Portunus built in the II century BC. The famous Mouth of Truth, a roman relief representing a river-god, and the Circus Maximus, located between the Palatine Hill, once the Imperial Palace, and the Aventine Hill.
